Changes to WESTlink bus system

WESTlink bus zones and routes are changing from 27th July

Published: 27 July 2026

Map of the Bristol and Bath area showing Westlink zones

What’s changing?

  • Expanded travel area: You can now use WESTlink to travel across the entire West of England & Bristol North areas provided your journey is no more than 8 miles (aerial distance).
  • End-to-end integrated transport journeys: WESTlink is now integrated with the wider public transport network. This means you can request journeys to destinations beyond the WESTlink operating area, including locations such as Bristol city centre, Bath city centre, and Weston-super-Mare. Where available, we’ll offer a combined journey plan that may include WESTlink together with local bus and/or rail services. To help you reach more destinations seamlessly, the WESTlink app will provide you with the option to book your WESTlink journey, and will show you the proposed bus route connection.

Updated fares

To support the expanded service and new journey options, WESTlink will now use a distance-based fare structure, so the amount you pay reflects the length of your journey:

  • 0 – 4 miles: £2.60
  • 4 – 8 miles: £3.00
  • Child fares remain unchanged
