Severn Bridge works August and September
National Highways have announced closures and lane restrictions on the Severn Bridge this summer, for trials of a new resurfacing technique.

National Highways will be resurfacing a 200m section of the bridge this summer as a trial of machine laying. Lane restrictions will be in place from Saturday 1st August until Sunday 27th September, with some full closures overnight.
This planned maintenance work will improve the bridge’s resilience, reduce the risk of future unplanned closures and help future proof the structure for years to come, allowing business to operate effectively, creates employment opportunities and unlocks regional development.
